Arjuna Ardagh is a great writer and founder of Living Essence Foundation. If you click on the title of this post, you can listen to his talk. It is great. It is about how to contribute your unique gifts to society.
In essence, what he suggest doing is this: ask 10 people to list ten positive qualities you embody. Notice where certain descriptors are repeated across people. With the most common words found, think about what you can do to give these qualities to other people at least once a month. Then, once every two months. Next, once a week, and so on. The end goal is to find a profession where you can actually give other people your gifts through work by sharing your gifts with others.
Note: If you are a bored lawyer or accountant, do not quit your job for this. Become mindful or your strengths and slowly find ways to apply and contribute your gifts to society.

Looking for Evolutionary Women
There are three kinds of women: 1) those not interested in evolutionary conversations 2) those sort of interested but not committed 3) those who know we need each other to reach a higher level and are willing to engage.
I am grieving a handful of girlfriends who i can't connect with because they are not up for a higher level truth.

-on love...not single minded romance-
ON TRUTH AND LOVE: WRITTEN BY ONE OF THE MOST WISE and LOVING WOMEN I HAVE EVER KNOW...
"love can mean so much much more, be richer, more fulfilling, with openness and freedom, can permeate so many more dimensions of life, that to limit it to just one aspect of a personal relationship is not very progressive or intelligent."

Wowee...an additional tool for the medicine kit!
So I have been working on asking my "Shadow Self" (mentioned 2 posts ago) what the different images and dreams represented by my unconscious mind mean. I have been successfully assuming the perspectives of these images, dreams, and people and talking/befriending them even when they are not always very becoming. To add to that, I stared to use the perspectives and feelings I come up through the "Shadow Self" practice to gain a greater connection with everything around me.
Below are two paragraphs from Pema Chodron's Taking the Leap Freeing Ourselves from Old Habits and Fears. I would have underlined the title of the book but this blog does not underlining capabilities :). I suggest working with the "Shadow Self" practice mentioned from 2 posts ago and then bringing in the practice listed below.
Whatever pleasure or discomfort, happiness or misery you are experiencing, you can look at other people and say to yourself, "Just like me they don't want to feel this kind of pain." Or "Just like me they appreciate feeling this kind of contentment."
When things fall apart and we can't get the pieces back together, when we lose something dear to us, when the whole things is just not working and we don't know what to do, this is the time when the natural warmth of tenderness, the warmth of empathy and kindness, are just waiting to be uncovered, just waiting to be embraced. This is our chance to come out of our self-protecting bubble and to realize that we are never alone. This is our chance to finally understand that wherever we go, everyone we meet is essentially just like us. Our own suffering, if we turn toward it, can open us to a loving relationship with the world.-Pema Chodron
Thank you World, Pema Chodron, and Ken Wibur for bringing both of these practices in my life. You have helped me learn to open up to life and myself in ways I may never have become aware of.

VERY POWERFUL DOCUMENTARY ON ISRAEL AND PALESTINE
This video has led me to the conclusion that Palestinians need a land of their own but outside of Israel because this is a losing battleground for them and I want them to stop suffering.

Ken Wilbur on the Shadow Self and Coming into the NOW
I am working with Ken Wilbur's "Shadow Self" practice. In essence, it is meant to help bring you into the present moment without projections from the past shaping how you react to life. Throughout my life I have projected things onto other people and they have projected their baggage onto me as well. None of this makes up who we are in this moment. Projections cloud many Beautiful experiences. Ultimately, when we project, we bring ourselves out of the present moment.
In sum, the "Shadow Self" practice is to identify a monstrous or positive image, dream, or person and ask: "What do you want?" Then, answer the question regarding the desire. Next, take ownership over this desire and befriend and own it.
Feel free to watch and learn.

KEYS TO FEMININE POWER
A dear friend introduced me to an empowerment project that is amazing. I think you would LOVE IT IF YOU please check it. The project is called “Keys To Feminine Power,” which includes a seven week program for women. “Keys to Feminine Power” is an online and live conference meant to help women awaken their co-creative feminine power. You can listen to it at your convenience.
The intro talk can be found at http://attendthisevent.com/?eventid=13144539. I listened to the talk via the link listed above and create a list of what I consciously want out of life and I suggest you do the same. This introductory talk is amazing.
One reason this was amazing was how deep it took me into understand my true self and desires.
Step one is to consciously ask yourself to list 5 things you want out of life.
Step two is to ask yourself the the following questions but just listen for the answers (as one question at a time with your eyes closed and write down your answers):
* What do you want to feel?
* What do you want to create?
* What do you want to contribute?
Remember this: your desires are within reach as long as your source is rooted within. If you are receptive to yourself and to becoming fulfilled by what is available to you, you can allow yourself to begin to access the support you need to bring forth your potential.
When I was asked to think consciously about what I want out of life, this is what came to mind:
* A Meaningful Job
* Good friends
* An Ability to share life with a partner
* Enough money to be comfortable
* Travel Opportunities
* Integrating a mind, body, and spirit connection in everyday life
As part of this process, I realized I have integrated some of the above in my life.
Then, I was asked to close my eyes and intuitively listen to what I want to feel, express, create, and contribute in life. My answer to this was very different. This is what arose within that context:
As part of this guided meditation, I wanted the following:
* To express my views, affection, care, self-care, and appreciation for life regardless of darkness or light.
* To create music, jewelry, good relationships, positive vibrations, and integration of thought and action.
* To feel beautiful, funny, strong within myself, full of light, happy, and to not be overtaken by other people’s opinions.
* To contribute to my own and other’s well being.
* To become a source of inspiration for other people and myself, which includes how to feel connected with life, one’s self, and finding peace and happiness.
Currently, I am embarking on a journey to separate myself from old patterns. I am beginning to partner with a larger self and truth, which is this affirmation I came up with today: “I am learning to see the truth now. I am evolving. I am a beautiful goddess who can create loving intimate connections to bring forward joy to the universe.”
This meditation has led me to realize that instead of desire being sourced by external things, I can be the source for the desire I urn to experience. I am building the confidence to navigate a destiny that doesn’t yet exist. How am I doing this? I have looked at how sad and painful my childhood was and how it prevented me from being who I wanted to be. Then, I looked at myself as an adult and see how much has changed! THANK YOU GOD and ALL YOU SWEET SPIRITS!
Currently, I have been much more able to show up for life, step outside my childhood self to create, and realize the truth and beauty of a co-creative energy that is interdependent and supportive. The more we look at our major pains and see how we have changed and what we desire from within, the more we can bring forth our powerful potential.
